^ Probably a troll trying to give Quebec anglophones a bad name. Hardly something a real one would say.

You are not telling the whole story about the UN. It's much more complicated than that, especially when you consider the fact that the UN said that Anglo-Quebecers cannot be considered a minority as long as Quebec is part of Canada.

Legal dispute over Quebec's language policy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Furthermore, the UN doesn't have the power to declare Canadian laws "illegal"

It can condemn, but it has no legal authority over Canada or any other country.

Observing as a neighbor just south of Quebec I thing the province will not completely into the Anglo culture until after the glaciers come back and drive all of us into the southern part of the US.

Better to have more linguistic rules regulations and language police just in case those glaciers come back sooner than expected eh!

Canadians are so cute. Most Canadians are ignorant of the fact that they are subjects of the Queen and not independent citizens. Their every law is subject to the approval of Her Majesty's Governor General. As for French claiming oppressed status, see how much multilingualism exists where the French hold sway. The French outright banned other languages in France and French possessions. Basques are only one cultural minority and language minority that could only dream of the WASP magnanimity granted to the French -- an autonomy unknown in Continental cultures, much less to conquered colonial subjects as les grenouilles. In return, the French ignore that merciful grace and refuse to everyone else the courtesy granted them. Camillien Houde summed it up better than anyone when he stated the truth that Fascism was a Catholic, Continental phenomenon. Fact: Fascism was never politically viable in any predominantly Protestant country, never garnering more than 10% of the popular vote in the WASP world, Protestant Europe. Industrialization, free speech, stable governments and economies: thank your British colonial masters. Since Canada has lurched so far Left, it's betrayed its English rights and lost free speech - as totalitarian leftist ideology is irreconcilable with liberty.

If the Canadian gov disagrees with its subjects' dissent, the gov will simply label it hate speech and censor it.

I assume that by "Protestant Europe", you are excluding Germany?

Welcome to the forum. Does regbs stand for "I registered to post some BS"? I can't quite figure out what you are rambling against -- Canadians, monarchists, the French, Quebecers, Fascists, liberals?

Free speech is alive and well in Canada, don't worry about that.
