Moving to Montreal from calgary (private school, requirement, kids)

Hi All,
I am planning to move to Montreal from Calgary with my wife and 2 kids(6 years and 2 years).Currently my elder son goes to English speaking school in Calgary in grade 1. We are permanent resident in Canada.
My question is as follows
1) will he get admission to English speaking public school or he has to go to French school. Does English speaking public school have fees in Montreal
2) what is the fees range for English private school
