Man... I thought the language nonsense would have died down when I was a kid and Jacques Pariseau and Lucien Bouchard's bids failed. I see they are still at it.

Darned Frenchies. Never should have let them have power in the first place. They can't be trusted with it!

If they are putting emphasis on French language proficiency, does that mean it will be easier for North and West Africans to get in?

Perhaps on all of these questions we should ask people in the CAQ like Lionel Carmant, Nadine Girault, Christopher Skeete and even Sébastien Scheenberger what they think.

I dunno AJ, denying 18000 visa applications and banning all forms of religious symbols sounds a bit draconian to me.

My sense is that deep down they've realized they've made a mistake with the 18,000 applicants, and will find a way to backtrack on this.

Religious symbols are a different story, though it's worth pointing out that they're only being banned in a small number of very specific circumstances.

That they are banning religious symbols at all gives pause for concern. who cares if the girl serving me has a head scarf or some one wants to wear a crucifix around their neck.https://o.canada.com/news/quebec-charter-of-values-faq Whats next? people who dont speak fluent French get thrown out of the province?
