Charleston native and Cisco CEO John T. Chambers has donated $3/4 million for cancer research at West Virginia University. With matching research funding it will enable $1.5 million to be spent in the effort.

Right, and instead of hiring mercenaries to fight off pirates, he chose to fight cancer. Hats off to Mr. Chambers.
