I live in texas and own a home where 2 counties charges county tax and ISD tax. I bought this inventory home in Oct 07, so should i pay all the taxes for the whole of 07 or is my builder responsible for the remaining 9 months and me 3 months.
example if the appraised value of home is $100,000 and tax rate is 2%, then should I pay 2000$ or pro-rated rate of 3months = 3/12 * 2/100 * 100,000 = 500$.

Thanks

What did the closing documents say? Around here the seller usually pays for the part of the year they owned the house and the buyer the other part but sometimes the seller will pay the whole year and sometimes nothing at all.
