A hog-riding former lawmaker from Wisconsin claims that Harley-Davidson voided his motorcycle's repair warranty because of the patriotic flags he let fly from the back of his chopper.
However, Harley-Davidson says the warranty is still in effect and just his warranty claim has been denied.
They're shafting him. What the company said lets them avoid paying for the repair without saying he no longer has a warranty.
With the same brand, I read one should always keep preventive maintenance up to date and documented because if you have a warranty claim, for many practical purposes your warranty isn't between you and the factory, but between you and whatever service writer is working with you at the time.
Seriously, HD? Wow. I thought all these big bikes were so overpowered and overbuilt, that they could easily handle some extra drag/ higher power outputs.
I've seen plenty of HD riders who might pose some "wind resistance", and I can't imagine such an agricultural transmission and clutch to have trouble anyway.

Weak.
Have some more Kool-Aid.
Harleys are massively underpowered for their displacement and weight. Harley won't even release actual HP numbers because they're so embarassingly bad.
My eleven year old Aprilia makes around 90 HP out of a 60 cubic inch v-twin. HD runs in the mid-60 HP range out of their twin cam 88.

The V-Rod looks sort of interesting and makes reasonable power. The rest of the HD line...like most cruisers are way underpowered for their displacement. When a 600cc performance bike makes more HP than a 1300+ cc cruiser, you know they aren't trying too hard. The only somewhat "cruiser" like bike that really appeals to me is the VMax. Not the most practical machine, but would be fun for the occasional weekend ride.

Sure, but that engine was designed with Porsche, and isn't a "real" Harley according to the intelligencia of the HD community because it's water cooled.
I like the look of the new Valkyrie by Honda, and have a soft spot for the new California by Moto Guzzi.
