Just trying to understand.

If you think the products are so terrible, why buy them? Plenty of other options out there....
I don't think that the products are bad. Just wondering why the differences in Service Intervals across the world.

It's 6000 miles in the EU and Australia, and Asia.

Why would they give an interval in miles in countries that use kilometers?

Is that 2% of worldwide sales $$$ or units?

Emission laws may effect the engine that require shorter oil change

Most bikes can do both measures in both km and miles. You have to ask Honda UK that question. It's called a world motorcycle standard. 2% unit sales are in the US.

It would be interesting to see what their unit sales are by class. i'd think their market share is far higher than 2% in things like the luxury touring class than in the smaller bikes more popular in other parts of the world.

Don't do this. It really isn't that great an oil for a bike. Go with a decent synthetic and your engine will last much longer, plus the interval between changes increases as well.

Randy it's too late for me......I'm on bike 39 over a period of 55 years and probably 800-900,000 miles so far without a single oil problem. Been using Rotella for at least 25 years. Buy it at Wally World.

It's a gold mine for the brands that can stamp "Harley or BMW" on a quart and get $12 for it, and oil snobs around the globe gleefully pay it. That $12 a quart stuff is produced to a set of specs by either Chevron or Shell or Texaco who refine oil and gas for everybody.

I reasoned that diesel truck guys probably had the handle on things when they commonly ran their 22-1 compression rigs for a million miles or more. That's a huge beating on components. The guys that buy oil by the barrel run a LOT of Rotella.

The guys that are so into oil specs they are mentally ill send in samples to Blackstone for testing. Some sampled Rotella T-6 against Mobil 1 (usually twice the price) and Rotella came out equal or better every time. My son has a KTM 990 Adventure and sent in a sample of Rotella to Blackstone. They commented that after 3,000 miles it was in better shape than Mobil 1. Your mileage may vary, in the end with today's better oils you could safely go into any Circle K buy plain white wrapper 30wt and drive any motorcycle across the USA and it would be fine.

Have a great day and save some money...........
