Aint that the truth. Why spend 10k plus on a nice bike and only $50 on a helmet?

Spent 100 bucks and it's a 3/4...Usually wear a shorty...I will NOT wear a full face...Just the way it is...I would go back to the shorty if there was no 3/4...Long as its DOT it's good...Tried the no helmet thing once...Did not like it and pulled over and put the helmet back on...

I hear you. I don't mean to knock anyone not wearing a full face, I just don't never understood why not. Me I couldn't wear one if I wanted to. I think I would look silly riding a crotch rocket wearing a 3/4 helmet.

I have a 7 5/8 head and have a Shoei 3/4 helmet that fits great. I seldom wear it, though, because I'm so used to my HJC modular (full-face with chinbar which can be raised) helmet. I wear glasses, so it's more convenient than a standard full-face helmet, although the chinbar isn't as protective.

A helmet is not a thing to save money on. I got a feeling it should be at least $300. I nose dived right into the asphoalt but hardly noticed any hit thanx to the $300 Piaggio copter helmet. However my chin was scratched. No more 3/4 for me, unfortunately.

It goes without saying that the more covered up you are, they more protected you are,but I use a 3/4 most of the time because I wear glasses and they are convenient...plus everything I have has a windshield and I do a LOT of night riding...by the time you look through glasses,a plastic windshield and a plastic helmet shield at night,it will almost give you vertigo...plus I smoke cigs while riding a lot and that doesn't work out to good with a full face either.....but maybe I could drill a hole in the front and stick the cig through it...hmmmm
