The Empire Strikes Back has always been my absolute favourite of the installments--Luke going to Dagobah, meeting Yoda and being tested in many aspects, Han and Leia growing closer, and all the action in between. I once had this on repeat for like 12 hours.
Empire Strikes Back. Of the whole series it's probably the most exciting of all of them and it's the one where you really can feel for the characters. I like the darker aspect of the film too, where it ends on a down note.
Plus it has some of the great Sci-Fi set pieces of any film ever--ranging from the battle in the snow on Hoth to the swamp of Dagobah to the chase through the asteroid field to the conclusion in Cloud City.

That sounds kinda cuckoo, did you forget it one and went to sleep?
Of course I am kidding...was my 2nd favorite one. Original Star Wars (episode IV) is my favorite. I would have liked the Return of the Jedi a lot more if it didn't have the retarded Teddy Bears in it.
I know I am putting myself up for public hanging by saying this, but I think the whole Star Wars series is much ado about nothing. Yes, it was a novel concept back in the 60's or 70's whenever it came out, but times has changed and it is 2012. Sci-fi's from the 60's 70's look ridiculous and built on flimsy, corny sets and while the story line might have been cool being that it heralded the beginning of a whole genre in movies and popular culture, but for most people I think it's time to move on. Yes, for people who were teenagers/young kids in those days it carries lot of memories and nostalgia, but for the rest of us (me anyway) it is boring crap. Sorry I am not trying to insult the series or any of the fans just pointing out my perspective.
Bottom line -- movies like Soylent Green, the original Star Trek TV series, Star Wars etc. look boring and corny as hell in today's world!! Time to move on.

Rant over. Kill me now !!
Hey, hey I'm 21 years and fell in love with the movies when I was 8 years old.
I guess the movies just appeal to particular audiences. Not everyone will love the same movie as someone else. But I do know EVERYONE loves old, classic movies like the original Star Wars trilogy or Godfather movies.
