Due to a lot of health problems and an incredibly busy schedule I have been unable to see quite a few films I wanted to in the last couple of months and was wondering which you would recommend I put on my DVD rental list :
War Horse
The Iron Lady
J Edgar
Mother and Child
Coriolanus
Hadewijch
Monster in Paris
Bombay Beach
Carnage
Martha Marcy May Marlene
Young Adult
Big Miracle
A Dangerous Method
The Woman in the Fifth
The Adopted
Las Acacias
Mysteries of Lisbon
The Lady
I feel really quite frustrated as I tend to go to the movies at least twice a week and it just has not been happening of late. That is a lot of catching up !
I only saw J Edgar in the above list. I will recommend this if you are a big fan of Leonardo's acting - the way he really a brings a character to life, delivers the dialogues etc. If not, pass; nothing much happens during the movie and the supposedly "surprising" revelation about J Edgar is really not that big of a deal.
The Iron Lady got a few Oscar I think, at least one for make-up, and I remember lot of hoop-la during the Oscar ceremonies about Meryl Streep's mind-blowing performance as Margaret Thatcher. If you are into that stuff, you may like it. I have not seen it and don't plan on it.
Cool list btw, I will check some of them out myself.
I've only seen a handful of those, but I'd say definitely yes to Martha Marcy May Marlene, a strong yes to War Horse and Coriolanus, and skip A Dangerous Method and Young Adult. I enjoyed Young Adult, but everyone else I've known who's seen it has strongly detested it.
I have only seen "War Horse", and " J. Edgar". Loved "War Horse", but was underwhelmed by "J Edgar". That surprised me, given that it was directed by Clint Eastwood. I found it rather boring.
