My sister was one of those people. There were several films, such as the LOTR trilogy (though she'd skip through the boring parts) which she'd literally watch many times. She'd go through phases where she'd watch the same movie every day for like 3 weeks or something to the point where she could memorise every line by heart. Posting on the imdb message board I'm aware of people who say they've seen certain movies as often as 100 times!

I'm thinking of my favourite movies, and I don't think I've ever completely seen any film more than 5-6 times. What about you, which film have you seen the most times and how many? I've probably seen Forrest Gump, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Midnight Cowboy and Scarface about 5 times each. I first saw them in the early 00s so it's still less than once in 2 years on average. Usually, I watch a film once, maybe twice if I missed things and that's it, time to watch new movies.

Several movies I watch repeatedly. In no special order:

Home Alone 1 & 2
Weekend at Bernies 1 & 2
The Lost Boys
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (also regular Vacation and European)
Hysterical Blindness
The Crow
Back to the Future 1 & 2 (not a fan of 3)

I've lost count of how many times I've watched these movies.

We had a thread like this in "Books." I'm definitely a person who can read books over and over and watch movies over and over. To me it's more about the comfort & familiarity of a story, characters and scenery I know. Like listening to an old song you love.
Would you ever say "why would you listen to that song again when you've heard it already?" Probably not.

Watching movies I like over and over, and reading a book I like over and over, is like visiting an old friend.
