Me, too. I have only seen:

When Worlds Collide
The Man From Planet X
The House On Telegraph Hill
Flight To Mars
Detective Story
The Desert Fox
The African Queen
Abbott and Costello Meet The Invisible Man
The Day The Earth Stood Still

I may have seen the Looney Tunes movies but I don't remember them by name.

Not a particularly great year.

Chariots of Fire
Evil Dead (really? I thought this was a good decade later)
Excalibur
Great Muppet Caper
History of the World Part I
On Golden Pond
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Stripes
Time Bandits (my favorite of the ones I've seen)

Very "gray" feeling list, if that makes any sense.

You're being too modest! Everyone is naming classics but also are listing personal favorites occasionally.

How can any list be "gray" if you can list amazing films such as "Time Bandits", "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "On Golden Pond"?!

I hoped this question would make people proud that their birth years had great films and that even the lesser ones often show up on other people's "favorites" list.

I'm enjoying reading all of the contributions. Thanks for all who have participated!

Default 1969

Lots of anti-establishment movies:
Midnight Cowboy
Easy Rider
Alice's Restaurant
Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice

Lots of Westerns, which sort of died off soon afterward:
True Grit
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
The Wild Bunch
Paint Your Wagon
