I loved the movie "Becket." (As well as his others, of course!) In fact, I think I'll watch Becket today, in his memory.

Becket (1964) - IMDb
This is so funny. I just said to my daughter today that Becket was one of my all time favorites of Peter OToole. What a pairing OToole and Burton. Just awe inspiring, IMO. I said the Lion in Winter and Becket were companion movies. I have both.

I wonder why Becket never drew the acclaim that L in W did.

When I saw Lawrence of Arabia I thought Peter OToole was the most beautiful man I had ever seen.

edited to add: Also Zula Dawn. Wonderful movie.

It's worse than that - Tom Hanks has two. One for his role as Tom Hanks in "Philadelphia," and another one for playing Tom Hanks in "Forrest Gump."

Peter O'Toole is quite possibly my favorite actor of all time - not just for how extraordinary an actor he was, but simple for the sheer presence he brought to each role he played. He knew what it meant to be a movie star, and he was one of the rare movie stars who were also exceptional actors. There truly will never be another like him.
