I notice Hollywood has a long history of having villains with upper class British accents. Even take Disney, for instance. The Queen in Snow White, Lady Tremaine (the evil stepmother in Cinderella), the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, Maleficient in Sleeping Beauty, Cruella de Ville in 101 Dalmations, even George Banks in Mary Poppins could be seen as a sort of soft antagonistic figure until the end of the film, Shere Khan in the Jungle Book, The Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood, that villain in the Rescuers (I forget her name, kinda like Cruella Deville/Ursula), Jafar from Aladdin, Scar from the Lion King, Frollo from the Hunchback of Notre Damme.etc. I mean it's a pretty conclusive list. Only a few were actually SET in England and of the rest, the protagonist almost ALWAYS has an American accent.
I love Disney but perhaps he had something against the Brits? haha jk.
I thought the Sheriff of Nottingham had a country bumpkin accent, like most other people in the film. I would never consider George Banks to be a villain. Otherwise, good points.

Oh you're right, I guess my memory is really off (tbh I think I only saw it once as a young kid). Why does he talk with an American accent? haha
More importantly, most Disney Villains are unattractive, encouraging children to believe that good guys are attractive and bad guys aren't
