Last night my netflix wouldn't work. That circle kept rotating searching for titles - and nothing popped up.
I called my internet provider, no problem.
I called Netflix's customer service 4 times, spoke to 4 customer service reps, got 4 different attempts
to make it work - still nothing.
Called my the maker of my blu ray player they put an upgrade on it and still no netflix.
Called netflix again, repeated their instructions again: turn everything off, unplug everything,
press up up, side side, etc...each time - still nothing.
Note: the blu ray is plugged into an outlet which our apartment provides free internet and cable,
so it is not wireless.
Then one rep said he will disconnect it and then I will receive a code to put in, got that hours later
and the code didn't work. I'm exhausted, the whole day was spent on this snafu.
****note- the problem is that when I turn the player on and press Netflix on the remote - it will
show up (red screen) connects but then it just gets stuck showing "searching titles." Never had
any issues before. Also, it does play on my laptop (which is wireless).
Has anyone else experienced problems like this? Is it time to switch to Hulu?

My Netflix works fine. Just got done watching house of cards. It sounds as if the bandwidth might not be wide enough, i.e., you need a faster connection or one that isn't as crowded.

You just defined your problem. It plays on your laptop - I gather it uses the same connection as your Blu-ray, just wireless.
Therefore:
1. The problem is not at Netflix
2. The problem is not at your ISP
3. The problem is not at your laptop
That leaves...
...

...Bueller?

It maybe my provider -AirWaves but it worked fine for several months until Thursday night. That's when the problem began
& I did check with the internet provider (Airwaves). The dvd player is connected directly to the outlet (not wireless)
but my laptop is wireless.

Sounds like an issue with your blu-ray player. Never heard of a blu-ray player that did netflix before.

Do you mean the PS3?

Netflix's streaming capabilities were severely overtaxed by the recent release of "House of Cards", which resulted in constant re-buffering and lower definition for most users.

Now that the binge addicts and hard core streamers are finished, service has returned to normal.

However, as streaming becomes more popular, Netflix will have to upgrade their capabilities which will result in increased user fees.
