They are playing the original on cable frequently now to drum up interest in the sequel. I turned it on the other night during the scene with Lloyd wrecking havoc in the bar.
I don't care how dumb it is. I want to see it. The John Denver joke always cracks me up.
Yeah I drove solo coast to coast from GA to WA 3 years ago... and actually thought about this scene every time I got back on an interstate after a stop.

Know what? I think one of the reasons the first one is so popular is because so many comedies suck. I can't stand most of the "humor" of a lot of the comedies in the last 15 years or so. I know the Farrely brothers created Dumb and Dumber, but I truly cannot stand "Something About Mary" and similar type of comedy.
And some of the comedies of our ages are funny, but not ROTFL funny like Dumb and Dumber.
People put so much pressure on for sequels and then everyone gets disappointed. I wish they hadn't caved.
