I've seen many versions of this movie, but the 1941 Burgess Meredith & Lon Chaney Jr. version is one of the best. As a kid in the 70s, I use to watch those cartoons made like the characters Lenny and George and laugh. I stopped laughing at them when I red the book and watched the movies.

I saw that original 1939 one IN SCHOOL I think on VHS one day

I cried during it...... My teacher let me bring the tape home afterwards and watch it again!!

I've never watched this. Nor have I ever seen the play version though it was done at my high school.

Sometimes I use the phrase "the best laid plans of mice and men..."

Missed the bus: "the best laid plans of mice and men..."
