Really? I would have expected you to be someone who favored freedom of expression.

Personally, I think it's horrifying that police would imagine that they have the right to cherry-pick who they want to protect. And to me it only makes it worse if cops are banding together to support some of the horrific actions they've been guilty of lately.

By the way, about transcribing - I've heard that John Sayles also has a good memory for dialogue, and used to sneak off and write down things before he forgot.

Sometimes it takes a strong statement from an influential individual to make people stop and listen. This nation has a horrific problem with cop shootings. I understand that mistakes will be made in the heat of a dangerous conflict. What can not be defended is the fact that usually the punishment is less than a slap on the wrist.

A lot more of us would be outlaws if we could kill with relative impunity and maybe receive a slap on the wrist for it.

Tarantino has doubled down and has refused to apologize for his role in making the world more dangerous for police officers.

Like millions of others, I too, will express my freedom of speech and will boycott his movies. Silence, with back turned, is sometimes the best form of protest.

Let me guess....the lives of those outside of law enforcement simply do not matter? All lives matter. Color and badges are not the overwhelming determinants of the equation.

Cop killings make national headlines. Citizen killings? How can a couple/day be considered newsworthy?

I would not and cannot stand in the way of his first amendment rights. He does have to accept the consequences of his statements, which is what is happening in this situation.

Some of you folks are talking like a boycott by the police/state will make Tarantino starve. Are your numbers really that big?

Did you just make that up? What is your source for the boycott making him starve?

Actions and deeds have consequences. He sent his message, now we will send ours. Just like if your dentist was an african lion trophy hunter, or your favorite football team had a player who beat his kid with a stick, or you were boarding a plane for africa and tweeted you hope you don't get aids.

I think PC has contributed to raising a generation with a disproportionate percentage of gays, socialists, and wimps who want a Purple Heart if they show up on time. How is that?

I would hesitate to go to Africa for fear of having my head lopped off with a machete. I also try to occasionally harvest my own meat for the freezer and believe that hunters often form a needed service for road safety.

I have nothing against gays but it is not in societies best interest to have a disproportionate % of them. We need babies from married people with dads in the house to hold our social fabric together.

From another forum's post:

December 24th, 2015, 7:06 am

Quite a few negative reviews pouring in now. Nick Pinkerton for Reverse Shot, A.O. Scott of the NY Times, Joe Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal, David Edelstein of New York Magazine, Matt Zoller Seitz, and the head film critics for the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post, etc.

^Entertainment Weekly gave it a C (as in A, B, C, D and F).

Not good, but I confess I'm not too surprised.
