She is a star of the poster, star of the trailer, and she plops down in the Captains chair in the trailer. Star Trek used to be about the characters......Spock, Bones, Scotty, Kirk etc. Now its about the new girl.

I can't blame him. This is clearly what this audience wants to pay for. Prior to the men heading for the ladies room?
lol

Oh noes!!11!!! A GIRL. The horror!!!

You are arguing with the process that turned a pretty decent movie into the most widely seen/biggest money maker of all time?

Selling tickets is what they did better than anyone else...

It will be interesting when Avatar II goes against Star Wars this December. I thought Avatar was a far more memorable experience.

The next Star Wars is pushing the interracial love theme. I'm not sure that people want to spend their time and money watching people smooch. Smooching has got to be about the easiest film footage available. I do not find it entertaining....it always seems fake and contrived.

Do movie goers flock to see people smooch on film?

I'm not trying to start anything, but I hate that movie. It's another example of a film exalted by its then-current VFX and a premise viewers mistook for extraordinary.
