Of course, I'm obligated to see "Beowulf". If I don't get to it this weekend, I will see it soon enough! For those who have seen it so far, what did you think of it? Did you see it on IMAX/3D or just a regular theater? Please don't mention any spoilers. Thanks.

Hi
I watched it on 3D!
It is really strong on fantasy violence. Beowulf fights a monster naked too but it doesn't show his actual private. So I am not sure if you would want your 11 year old to watch that.

The movie itself is actually well created and has a good script. The acting is really good too. It reminds me of The Hobbit cartoon but this has much more violence and action. This movie also had the ability to elicit suspense and emotion from me. I was surprised by that because usually these type of special effects action movies usually don't do that for me.

I give the movie an A-

I can't decide whether or not to see it in a theater.
It is here now, but I am not sure it will be here through the holiday.
I really liked the 2005 "Beowulf and Grendel."
I never really understood Beowulf in high school and that movie brought it to life for me, with incredible scenery (it was filmed in Iceland.)
This latest version looks like a video game (like 300) but I liked 300.

Thanks for the review. My son has a "private part" so I dont know if thats a big deal, but I was concerned about the violence. Fighting a dragon is alot different then shooting a guy in the face etc.

Ideally, I want to watch this in 3D or at least an IMAX theater. So far, I haven't been able to. Maybe this weekend or the next if I can drag a friend or 2 along.

Has anyone seen this movie (or know from secondhand exp.) in both 2D (i.e. w/o glasses) and in 3D? Is there a big diff. in "viewing exp."? It's a $2 price diff. from my local theater. I guess I might as well plop down the extra couple bucks. I hope to see the movie this weekend.

I haven't seen in 2D but I am sure the 3D is well worth the extra bucks!
