As Good as it Gets - This is an inspirational movie because the three main actors and the little dog help each other out, each person is difficult in their own way and the fact they are able to "reach" one another is quite something.
For instance - Melvin is totally walled off from any emotions and real feelings until he takes care of the little dog. However, the little dog rescued him and got him to love again.
Incredible movie that shows love & kindness and the best in humans.

I so agree; Helen Hunt's performance alone was worth the price of admission.
This still makes me laugh:
Carol Connelly:
Why can't I have a normal boyfriend? Just a regular boyfriend, one that doesn't go nuts on me!
Beverly Connelly:
Everybody wants that, dear. It doesn't exist.
Inspiring? Hell, that's an easy one: hands-down, Glory (1989), directed by Edward Zwick. Starring Matthew Broderick, Cary Elwes, Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman.
= Why we really fought the Civil War. Up close and personal, giving dignity back to those who'd been stripped of theirs by conventions of the time, or the horrors of slavery.
Best line: "Time (is) coming we're gonna have to ante up and kick in, like men!"
I challenge anyone to watch this film and not be moved by the sheer bravery and willingness to lay down lives to set other men free. I cannot fathom the talent Zwick must have to tease out bravura performances from mediocre actors like Matthew Broderick and Cary Elwes, but he did. By the climatic battle scene, he even had those two completely in the 'zone' and fully believable in their roles: staring death in the face and marching in anyway. A (mostly) true story, too.
Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman stole the show, though, by a country mile and the former won Best Supporting Actor that year for the performance.
