I spent a lifetime lookin' for you
Single bars and good time lovers were never true
Playing a fools game, hopin' to win
Tellin' those sweet lies and losin' again.
Chorus
I was lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many places
Searchin' her eyes, lookin' for traces
Of what I'm dreamin' of
Hoping to find a friend and a lover
I'll bless the day I discover,
You - lookin' for love.
Gotta hold on easy as I let you go
Gonna tell you how much I love you
Though you think you already know
I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm
You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born
[Chorus]
You're beautiful baby from the outside in
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again
Go on, take on this whole world
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl
Totally agree. Probably one of the better and more well-rounded alt-rock soundtracks of the 00s. I feel like the soundtrack from Singles in the early 90s was similar for that genre.
I'm not a huge fan of 70s music, but I really enjoy how the soundtrack is woven into The Martian.
I love the Hans Zimmer scores, especially those from the Christopher Nolan movies.
I maintain this is the single best theme Williams has ever composed.
It's remarkable, indeed.
Other contenders would be "Omaha Beach" and "Hymn to the Fallen"
from Saving Private Ryan. Apples and oranges, in a way,
though all were created by the same genius.
Virgin Suicides (original tracks by Air)
American Beauty (original tracks by Thomas Newman, and all the other selections that were perfect for the scenes)
The Shining (Wendy Carlos)
A Clockwork Orange (Wendy Carlos)
