Some remakes are better than others, but The Count of Monte Cristo makes a great movie.

Jeremiah Johnson

Classic 70s with Robert Redford as a man who loses his adopted family to Native Americans in the American West, 1800s. He defeats a number of their warriors, then spends years fighting them one at a time as they seem to have had ritualized challenging him. Not sure if it fits the “revenge film” exactly, though.

Yes indeed.

Eastwood's "Unforgiven" comes to mind.

I like the 2003 version of "Zatoichi" with Beat Takeshi.

Can't believe I forgot this one. Maybe one of the best revenge flicks ever made.

I always liked My Bodyguard. Standing up to a bully. And later, the bully's bully.

I thought In the Bedroom was very good.

(It's not a movie, but Breaking Bad had a crowd pleasing finale about revenge).

Agree. So satisfying.

An ending you go back and watch because it was so good.
