I very much like the film Flight of the Intruder, which features A-6 Intruders, and was wondering if there exists a good Hollywood drama featuring F-4 Phantoms.

I'm not sure about F-4 Phantoms. But I remember Ghostbusters had "a focused, non-terminal repeating phantasm, or a Class 5 full-roaming vapor. Real nasty one, too!"

I don't know about "good" but if you are aircraft spotting there was the Red Flag: The Ultimate Game TV movie which predated Top Gun by 5 years.

In Iron Eagle II Israeli F-4s stood in for Russian MiGs flying escort for the American F-16s.

In the good category Robert Duvall was a F-4 squadron commander in The Great Santini.

Aha! I vaguely remember that Red Flag movie! Thanks!

I remember Hamburger Hill had a friendly fire incident. But as an expensive plane to fly compared to other types available before CGI F-4's really weren't used that much.

Such Apocalypse Now.....the jets were F-5's.

"Threads" had a F-4 taking it when the warheads landed.

In the TV show, Airwolf, "Moffett's Ghost", there a shot of two Navy F-4s (in the bungled scene of taking off as SPECAT Jaguars). OKAY, that footage I saw again in a movie in the late 80s, I think it was Wavelength. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086571/?ref_=tt_urv / .

It's too bad there's not really a movie like Flight of the Intruder or Top Gun that features F-4's. Such a beautiful and interesting aircraft, and a very different role than the A-6, since the A-6 was a light bomber and avoided dogfights altogether.

In the original Dogfights 2-hour premiere on The History Channel, there's a segment about Duke Cunningham and his epic dogfight over the skies of Vietnam. And there's this episode that I saw years ago:

On TV Black Sheep Squadron infamously took a 8th Fighter Wing MiG ambush mission by then Colonel Robin Olds and Tuskegee Airman Chappie James done by F-4s in Vietnam and pretended that then Major Boyington lead it in WWII in Corsairs.
