Actually a funny, heart warming, slightly raunchy film staring Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew Broderick and a lot of other recognizable actors.
Only one actual nude scene in the movie and it is truly funny as hell. Actually shows the fierce Jennifer Lawrence that fans are used to seeing in all of her action movies. I may be wron, but this might be her first foray (sp?) into comedy and it works.
Well worth watching if you want a brainless and funny couple of hours
My wife and I thought it was pretty funny, and no where near as raunchy as the media is making it out to be. It was actually well done, and I've always liked Jennifer Lawrence. And it was great seeing Ferris Bueller in it as well.

I was surprised that any actress of her status would do a nude scene, maybe a first since the 70s.
I loved the nude scene--it was downright groundbreaking, a cinematic first and so unexpected. The rest of the movie is rather dull: there are a couple of great scenes (like when the character Percy sings Maneater) but, otherwise, the plot is formulaic and predictable. JLaw does give a great performance but I am surprised that she would choose such a role given that she is so talented and in-demand. Maybe she just felt like doing a light comedy...?
A nice change I thought was typically this kind of "deception" movie someone starts with a mean or improper motive.
I thought everyone here really thought they would be helping Percy.
I didn't really think it was funny though. More like a lite drama.
I'm just thinking about contemporary ethics. I've seen dad, but not mom and dad set, up a son with a woman who will date him "hard" and he would always be seen as a, maybe "the ultimate" bad guy when that scenario plays out for one scene in most movies.
For a couple of example having friends know about one time only job choice with no pushback and a townie's wrestling skills when confronting the rich tourist did make me think comedy with drama more than drama with the ordinary funny stuff that happens with life

Exactly...it reminded me of the 80's comedy flick "can't buy me love"
Spoiler
Starts out as a nefarious plot, a bond is made, misunderstandings happen to drive the protagonists apart, and eventually reconciliation and a happy ending.
