I saw this a few weeks ago in Paris and am somewhat surprised to see that it is just coming out in the United States. Too somber, apparently, and not at all for children.

But I think it is a great movie and even if it flops now, it will be a classic in the future.

Glad you mentioned it. I've been wanting to see this film since I saw the trailer a few months back.

Is this worth seeing it in the theater? I'm debating if it's worth catching it in the theater or just waiting for DVD.

I am interested in seeing it, but once again will probably *have* to wait for the DVD.

Just saw it a few days ago. Seriously dissapointing. Absolutely ZERO character development and an equally thin plot. Yes, visually it's amazing, but at an hour and 19 mins, it ain't worth the $9 ticket.

Thank you for the post. I was wondering if I should give into my daughter and go see it at the theater or wait till it comes out on On Demand. My daughter takes things very seriously and is a little on the dramatic side, so I'm thinking we should go see "Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs" instead and save the somber stuff for later.I thought it was very child friendly.

I am curious to check it out myself if the OP predicts it will be a classic.

I paid 5 bucks today to see it. I liked it. If you watched the movie then you should understand why there is no real "character" development. Although I disagree with the notion that there is none. I thought it was a good plot.

I give it 3.75/5 stars. Rent it for sure.

Also check out "Coraline" the effects are better and the story is good. Its a little "weirder" though.
