There were some hilarious movies made then (a lot of Little Big Man is absurdly funny) - The Mel Brooks masterpieces - let's throw in "What's Up Doc?" which feels like one, plus Animal House, Airplane, Pink Panther series, and I think the Blues Brothers was actually filmed in 79 but released in 80.

I would throw in the intended-to-be-serious but campy "Omen II" and "The Boys From Brazil".

McCabe and Mrs Miller (1971) Directed by Robert Altman. With Warren Beatty, Julie Christie, Rene Auberjonois.

It has the look of old photographs because the cinematographer used vintage lenses and filters to give it that atmosphere. Haunting soundtrack by Leonard Cohen. The town, the set was actually being built as the film progressed, and the carpenters were also the extras. Famously many were US ex-pats fleeing the draft and military service in Viet Nam to the movie's filming location in British Columbia.

A Clockwork Orange. Best movie of the '70's, if not of all time. Either that or Kubrick's other masterpiece Dr. Strangelove (1964).
