I am looking for an old movie. It was about prisoners of war held in a compound/camp. They built a glider plane. It was hidden behind a fake wall of sorts. At the end of the movie they flew it out of the camp, I think from an old barn or some out building.
Yes it was a great movie. A glider that was lifted off the roof by wind and took two men from a large bldg or castle (can't recollect) towards Switzerland Alps.
Another good movie was "Operation Crossbow" not really a POW movie but depicted the V1 Rocket being tested in Denmark...a prelude to the V2 that was fired over Britain. It showed a woman as the pilot trying to figure why they were crashing and taking lives during testing. Fasinating to say the least. Good movie and a insight to the rockets workings.
The Colditz Story. I'm thinking that is not the movie but I'm looking into it a bit more. One part I clearly remember is that the glider was hidden behind a false wall.
