Wow...Peanut. That song really hits you. I've heard it before but have never read the lyrics before.
I was really listening to The Euryrhmics ands stumbled upon that video. Love that live version, very powerful. Annie Lennox is quite the musician. I'm sure we've all cried out ,"whyyyy" , in response to conflict or crisis. I know I've done that a time or two.

Love the Eurythmics...I've been on a Tears For Fears/Depeche Mode/INXS kick lately. So many great and forgotten 80 songs that really stand up over time....
"I'm standing here on the ground
The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all direction
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark for too long
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I found a love I had lost
It was gone for too long
Hear no evil in all directions
Execution of bitterness
Message received loud and clear (In this version this line was replaced with "things have been dark for too long)
I'm standing here on the ground
The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all directions
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark for too long"
