Two more EVH thangs! The cover of The Kinks "You Really Got Me" has Pete's famous pick-up switch technique employed at 1:40. It sounds like the sound is being chopped to pieces. The volume on one pick-up is turned all the way down while the other is turned up. Most likely the front because Eddie likes to play with the bridge (rear) most of the time. You flip the switch and this effect is created. Thanks Pete! The second is Running With The Devil. No, that is not a piano at :19. It is a muted bridge rake. Mute the strings and rake the bridge in a upward stroke from behind the pick-up. Pretty cool if you ask me!
