they were better without slash. Younger and not as drugged out! Trust me, it was better. I could not believe it either. Very impressed!!!! Blow away to be honest. But I do respect your opinion. I think it was a smart move!

My husband and I are older too me 45 him 47. It was hard staying up till 3 am. They played non stop 3 hours. I am used to substances to stay away and I am long done with that. My husband did get a good buzz on. Me totally 100 percent the only sober one in the place and had the best time. It fun watching everyone else being wasted.

I think I'd rather be stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on a hot humid day with no A/C than stay up until 3AM getting my ears blown out, paying too much for tickets, crowded, just to hear a distorted echoing version of songs I could easily hear more conveniently on an MP3 player. Nothing against G&A, I have much of their stuff myself, but the whole concert thing is so undesirable.

I feel the same way and dont go to concerts hardly at all anymore. I always said unless Frank Zappa comes back from the dead, IM not going but its fun every 10 years! Reminds you of being young again. It was not too big of a place also. Now the only few people left on my list to see before I die are

steve vai, of course my name steve morse (I love his guitar work) and Frank Zappa but its too late! So I have basically knocked most of my list off. Ohh I would have loved to seen Mick Ronson too but theres another one I missed!!! Its basically over the concert scene for me too!

in a sense your right but it was better! So who cares! Lets give Axl some credit for reinventing himself. This was not some thrown together last minute crap, it was well practiced and damn good. This is rock and roll not Bach or Beethoveen. Husband saw them in 1988 in Giant Stadium and they were not too good. THis time they were great so who the heck cares what it was. Btw, tons of bands do that, if they had the original member it would have sucked. Axle's voice was great right on the money !! Listen I can be open minded, Im not a huge Gun and Roses fan, Axl obviously has not been blowing his brains out on drugs and booze like the rest of the original members. He was excellent!!!! 3 damn long hard well practiced hours. Not some doped out loser. Gave us our moneys worth. I dont give a damn if he has anna nicole smith, michael jackson and oprah on stage this guy KICKED ASS!!!

Lots of bands change lineups over the years and keep the same name. Look at Fleetwood Mac for example. They may not be the original GnR, but I'm glad that someone has something positive to say about one of their gigs.
