Oh....sorry I put Live at Leeds in the same statement as I referred to "studio albums".....but that's not so bad, really, when you consider that I'm enjoying some vodka right now. Simple mistake, to me.
But no, that's not so when you say,
"Just about every music critic in the last 30 years."
That's not so at all. I'm not living under a rock. Rock music has been a major part of my life for a long time.
If you feel that The Who is the best, leave it at that - no problem at all....but "just about every music critic in the last 30 years" is a ridiculous statement, simply because it is not true.

Every music critic in the last 30 years has not said that. That's a tall order. However, it is a well known fact that the Who are universally considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest live bands of all time.
That is just a plain, easily proven fact.
Led Zeppelin was a great live band, too, but let's face one simple reality: The fact that they quit in 1980 is part of the reason they are remembered so fondly. If they had continued on, as the Who did, they would have a lot more warts working against their legacy.

Put down the vodka and you might realize that I was very light-hearted about it too.....did you notice?

Actually...it's quite true! I didn't say EVERY critic, but that majority seem to agree.

Put perhaps better than I did...but exactly what I meant.
I didn't say "EVERY" in reality anyhow.

Again well said!
I also think age has something to do with the polling here. If you were around to see both bands from their inception, I believe your POV would reflect that.
Just out of curiosity, do you get a quarter, or something, every time you post: "Posted using Tapatalk 2 via my RAZR!"
???
If so, I'm wondering why Hewlett Packard has made me an offer.

Reason: Forgot the word, 'you'...making the post incomprehensible.
