I was waiting for this post! McDonald is one of those rare musicians. He also wrote much of In the Court of the Crimson King. If you have a chance to see the Steve Hackett in Japan DVD it features McDonald playing guitar, flute, and keys.

Great bassist, very good singer (gets points for simultenaity), mediocre keyboard player. Ok, he gets in the club.
