I was waiting for this post! McDonald is one of those rare musicians. He also wrote much of In the Court of the Crimson King. If you have a chance to see the Steve Hackett in Japan DVD it features McDonald playing guitar, flute, and keys.
Stevie Wonder was the first multi-instrumentalist that I thought of. He sings, writes, produces, as well Wonder plays the piano, synthesizer, harmonica, congas, drums, bass guitar, bongos, organ, melodica, and clavinet.
