Is there such a genre? A small YouTube search reveals nothing. This would be an interesting mix if done properly. Post 'em if you got 'em.

Can you be more specific or give examples...?

There are no specifics, per say. And although there are different sub genres and the like, I tend to categorize trance, dance, electronic and certain types of techno into the same group. My father played a lot of big band growing up and I liked the sound. Currently, I am really into female vocal trance mixes with big drops, and I just had the thought to search for big band trance, because, at least to me, that would be a similar blend to a good amount of current trance music. I searched to see if there even was such a genre. It would sound like this: you would have some sort of techno electronic mixing with a slower big band feel to it, and then bam--the big dub step/bass drop throughout the chorus sections.

The following two videos are examples of the types of blends of more "classical" sounds with newer mixes. Big band trance would be along the same path as these videos, but it would be with the big-band feel with heavier and quicker riffs than the Paul Anka version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" - Paul Anka

"Elements" - Lindsay Sterling

Now, this is the type of sound I like with the mix that I like. I mean, if these two songs don't get you pumped...

"Carry Me" - Morgan Page ft. Nadia Ali

"Sunrise" - Exodus, LJ MTX & Jason Risk ft. EpicFail & Nessakay

And big band trance could feature something similar, just with more of a big-band take on things. I was a little surprised not to get many hits on it when searching.
