I am trying to recall a female singer around the 1950's to 1960's.
She sang in a similar style as Connie Francis.
I think she was Mexican/American, but she was not really heavily marketed as such, although she may have recorded some music in Spanish.
And I am sorry but I can't remember any specific songs either. Anyone have any ideas? I tried to Google female singers of that era but didn't get an answer. Once I see her name I will know it!
I think she sang more of a ballad type music, probably romantic music, not any rock that I can remember.
Thanks you for helping out.

A couple notable singers that might qualify here would be Eydie Gorme and Vicky Carr.

The bulk of Gorme's solo career came from Columbia Records and her early material was on ABC-Paramount. And of course, she was more noted for her career and marriage to pop singer Steve Lawrence. She passed on last Fall.

Vicky Carr goes back to the early 1960's and put out nearly a dozen lp's on Liberty Records. And several more on Columbia Records, including several that were pressed in South America only. She had one hit that went top 10 on the pop charts around October 1967 named "It Must Be Him."
