I have been on a U2 kick. The arresting excellence of that band just stops me in my tracks. It is like they find a way to say things I feel but cannot ever bring to the surface. What are your favorite tracks? Why?

These days Boy is my favorite album of theirs. "Out of Control" may be my current favorite U2 song, and it's a solid album all around. An Cat Dubh, Stories for Boys, I Will Follow, etc. Youthful, fresh, raw, can hear/smell the crashing Irish coast in the background.

Other fave songs: Gloria, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Drowning Man, In A Little While

My favorite U2 songs are Bad, New Year's Day, Stay (Faraway, So Close!), The City of Blinding Lights, and Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own. There's simply something about each of these songs that resonates with me. In fact, most U2 songs touch a nerve and have a magical moment somewhere within the song, but the above ones are in my rotation right now. I don't own any of their albums, so I can't say what my favorite is. They're definitely one of the best bands ever assembled though. Their longevity proves that.
