Thanks for sharing. My 1cent on this is people who listen on headphones are not the target of hi-fidelity and hence, should not be. Hi-fidelity has always been about dedicated listening rooms built by true hi-fidelity enthusiasts. A place where the listener don't do multi-tasking such as listening to music on earphone and at the same time walking. It's about playing the music and just sitting and immersing with the quality of music. Quality and not quantity matters so I find it all right that majority of albums are bubblegum music while a very few albums make it to The room.

If 0.10% of music out there is hi-fidelity, to me that's a segment that is very much alive and kicking!

Many new music listeners just don't listen to music in a quality way. I don't mean in a chin stroking demo room way but played on a decent hi fi through good speakers at decent volume. And just listening.
Vinyl has proved it self as a way of storing, preserving and reproducing music. Will you be able to do the same process in 20 years ie find a computer to play mp3's?
I now merely listen to music via these ultra low fi PC speakers.
