I was listening to a collection of Burt Bacharach music yesterday when I was looking for Casino Royale (1967) music and came across "Nikki".

Those as old as I am can probably recall how they know the music better and........

OUCH! That Hurts! Both from the aspect of memory lane and the tragedy that is the eventual story.

Beautiful song. Many folks dismiss "easy listening" music as schmaltzy, but this song has an understated power and elegance to it. One of Bacharach's classics!

It's a great song, especially if Burt Bacharach is all over it.

It also should be noted that that piece had a different arrangement which ABC-TV used for a weekly series called "The Movie Of The Week".

Mmmmmm, yes, that is what I was alluding to above.....and to watch that, listen to your YouTube hit me like ice.

In a few days, I'm sure the major part of this effect will be past me, and either piece won't hit me as strongly. But for now, despite the pull of tears now that I know, I will enjoy.
