I was working pipeline construction in New Mexico when I saw the first CD in any retail store. This was early 1983, early April. After its completion, I bought the Moody Blues "Days Of Future Passed." And my first CD home player that same day. At $15.98 I was only buying cd's by my favorite groups. That changed around 1990 when it became clear to me that vinyl was intentionally phased out by the major record labels.

And now Vinyl sales are double what CD sales are, how bout that!
First CD I bought was Ronnie James Dio "The Last in Line"
First vinyl album I bought was Joe Walsh "But Seriously Folks"
