A truly gifted and talented person who beat most of his demons. He gave us many great gifts of music.

Phil Collins paid for David's liver transplant back in 1994. David had nearly 30 more years of life after that.

Hopefully they put his original liver in The Smithsonian.

RIP

Sad to hear this news. His talent was proven when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame twice. Once for The Byrds and then for his iconic colab with Stills & Nash. Young joined them later and went on to perform some great songs. I still listen to them today. Not a perfect man but who among us is? I'd rather be imperfect but talented rather than being simply imperfect.

Thank you, David, for leaving us with songs we'll remember always. One of my fun favorites from his time with CS&N is Marrakesh Express. But there are so many more.

And from his time with The Byrds . . .

A talented and difficult man, left us the same week as Jeff Beck. The velocity of "classic rock" era deaths will probably pick up to a depressing degree the next few years as these hard-living talents approach their 80's. I got to see CSN on their last tour so that was cool.

Yes... I read some interviews with David Crosby in his later years, and he seemed to hold onto a lot of bitterness. But Crosby, and with the other three that at one time formed Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and various other creative combinations over the years, were all just outstanding talents, and when they played together in the good times were fan-f---ing-tastic.

Cool interpretation of Crosby's "Guinnevere" by the Miles Davis electric band. (I'll admit I've only heard the first half, it's really long!)
