I know dance clubs are out of the question, since nearly 100% of the time and almost always as a rule, they don't play love songs or super-Soft AC (I have a separate earlier thread on that). Not sure if there are any music-themed meetup groups who might share a common love for that kind of music? Again I don't mean to ask a question that sounds trivial, but it is actually an important compatibility thing for me with women; for example, a woman who loves Hot AC or Hip-Hop is obviously not gonna be musically-compatible with me, lol I would just love to be able to listen to a love song together with a lady who I was hypothetically dating, who also likes and can appreciate them, as that could be something really special to be able to share together...and none of the women I have dated or been with in the past have really been able to understand why it's important to me; hence the question...
I think your question is interesting and I can see why you posted it in the "Dating" forum. Kind of a shame that it was moved. For a lot of people, compatibility in music isn't all that important but for many others it is. I used to be quite rigid (only went for the "rocker/heavy metal guys") when I was younger but have been a bit more laid-back about music in recent years (partially due to lack of options). I kind of miss proper music compatibility though! It always feels like that there is something missing when dating guys who like different music - it's almost like they don't "get" an important part of who I am.

You asked about the "general social demographic of women" who like romantic ballads in your OP but that's a pretty tricky question to answer because I have never considered ballads as a "genre" in their own right. All sorts of music genres produce love ballads and I think this is where your difficulty lies. People usually define their music taste by hip hop, r'n'b, rock, metal, alternative, jazz, alternative etc. etc. when pressed for a genre. I have never heard anyone say that their favourite music genre is "love ballads". So no, clubs who specialise in one genre or another are probably not a good option. Your best bet is probably theme nights maybe?

I know this sounds like a bit of an obvious question, but have you tried Google for events? Only yesterday did I come across an advert for an event at a venue near where I live. The venue is a nightclub with different music themes/genres on different nights, occasionally they host gigs as well. Anyway, tomorrow's theme is "Power Ballads" and it sounds like exactly the type of music that you seem to be fond of. I imagine that you would come across women who like your kind of music because.. well, why else would they go?
You mentioned MeetUp groups, great idea. I have never seen a group on there for romantic ballads, but then again I have never looked for one. Have you? If you have and there isn't one, why don't you start a group and see if it generates any interest?

Thank you for the excellent feedback and suggestions!

ETA: that's a very good point that you make, that love ballads can indeed be produced across all musical genres, many thanks for the helpful reminder In the context of the love songs or ballads that I had in mind as far as specific sub-genres, I guess I had meant love songs in the style of Soft Adult Contemporary music, or "Soft AC", Soft Rock, or "Soft" Pop perhaps (also the kind of music that is played on the SiriusXM Love satellite radio channel)? Thanks again for your valuable advice!

Or just simply keep that in your top criteria and trust that the Universe will bring your woman to you ~ when you both are ready.. I totally understand how wonderful it is being a musical match w/ a mate. There's probably even a song or 2 written about it

Thank you for the helpful input!
