No love for Rodney Crowell?

Emmylou does a fine job on the vocals, but I think it's more powerful sung in the first person. When Waylon sings the song it almost seems biographical.

Rodney Crowell wrote the song and was a founding member of Emmylou Harris's Hot Band, one of the best bands in the history of country music. He played electric guitar on this version. This album had two Rodney Crowell songs on it - this one and Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight. Emmylou was the 1st to record that song and the Oak Ridge Boys had a big hit with it a few years later.
