From the REM Facebook page -

"I thought [it] was a common phrase; it means to be at the end of your rope... The song is a classic obsession song. It's about someone who pines for someone else." - Michael Stipe, It Crawled from the South

Today is the 31st anniversary of the release of "Losing My Religion" as the first single from OUT OF TIME on February 19, 1991.

March 5, 1971, Led Zeppelin kicked off their 12-date ‘Thank You’ tour at Belfast’s iconic Ulster Hall. The gig saw the band perform ‘Stairway To Heaven’, ‘Black Dog’, ‘Going To California’ and ‘Rock And Roll’ for the first time ever.
To honor that legendary group, this is one of their live performances of the unforgettable Stairway To Heaven

I Love It Loud! Today in Rock n Roll History on Facebook

Quote:
March 11, 1978: "Follow You Follow Me" by Genesis entered the UK singles chart, where it would go to #7. This is also the first Genesis single to reach the US Top 40, where it would peak at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
At the time, people were still wondering hw the band would survive now that their drummer had taken over singing duties from Peter Gabriel I think he did pretty well.

Metallica performed their first concert ever with a gig at Radio City in Anaheim, California. The band consisted of founders Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield, along with Dave Mustaine on guitar and Ron McGovney on bass. There were approximately 200 people in attendance and the band's nine song set only had two original songs in it.

The Beatles Single "Can't Buy Me Love" with b side "You Can't Do That"
was released in the US on March 16th 1964.

Was a big hit...went to number 1 ...there was a point in the early spring of 1964
when The Beatles held the top 5 spots on the Billboard hot 100 chart!

The backing tracks for Can't Buy Me Love were recorded on january 29th 1964 in Paris, France!
The lead vocals and guitar solo were recording in London on february 25th 1964, just after
the group returned from the USA...on George's 21st birthday!

There are photos taken of that february 25th session.

The b side ...You Can't Do That ...is a very strong Lennon composition...
featuring 12 string electric guitar and cow bell....gotta have cowbell
