Anything by Anita Baker - her voice makes me absoloutely cringe. I also hate:
- "50 Ways to Leave your Lover" by Paul Simon - blech, bad then, bad now.
- Most R&B/rap/hip-hop songs
- End ESPECIALLY all these really, really syrupy, pop-ey, "cutsy" country songs they keep churning out by the bucketfull. I mean it, I used to like country, but they are just getting pitiful.
Geez Drover, how do you really feel
What I meant is that to me they are really boring, insipid songs (and btw I've owned many Beatles albums trying to "scratch the surface" of their work). I have every right to state my opinion as you do yours.
There are probably many artists I love that you do not, but I would never accuse you of ignorance.
Well, you said the Beatles' songs "all sound alike", which Im sure 99.9% of the people on this earth would disagree. To further elaborate on Drover's point, I dont see how a song like "Yellow Submarine" sounds like "Carry That Weight" or how "Help!" sounds like "Yesterday" or "Twist and Shout" sounds like "Penny Lane". You want music that all sounds alike? Listen to Cannibal Corpse.
And those stupid Paula Abdul "neener neener neener" type songs. You know the ones where the catchy hook sounds like like someone is going "neener neener neener"
Anything, and I mean anything, by Hall & Oates. Those guys were closeted nancy boys who sucked big green donkey youknowwhats. I broke up with a girl because she wanted me to take her to a Hall and Oates concert.
To a previous poster...The Police? Really? The clean early sound of Message In A Bottle and Ghost In The Machine deserves better than that.
