All I know about the Dixies' music is that our soft rock radio station wears out this Fleetwood Mac remake ad nauseam. Just sick of turning it the heck off all the time.
Love Country, but station wears out the same songs and I've yet to hear a Dixie Chicks tune to even know if I'd like their music. Rodney Aikens & Martina are great but c'mon, after a zillon times a day ... wanted to "One Two" Tim McGraw in the noggin already, and I knew his dad@!!
So bring on the Chicks until I get Satellite -- all their Country tunes, aside from the FMac one, would, at least, be something different.
According to today's Charlotte Observer, two Charlotte radio stations don't play anything by the Dixie Chicks. They say that in a poll over 90% of listeners didn't care to hear their music.
In light of the recent pat on the back by other liberals in the music industry (hint: recent awards), do you think their career's are over?

Toby Kieth and Ted Nugent hate them. I side with Toby and Ted. You write and sing songs for cowboys but don't like guns and or eating beef? WTF???? LOL Toby wasn't as rude and crude as Uncle Ted was though. Who cares, they deserve it. Don't like them and will do clay pigeon shooting with their CDs!
Apparently there's been some talk of Natalie Maines and homosexuality? She's the big mouth lead singer. And by bing mouth I don't mean the Bush stuff, but literally she has a huge mouth. I remember that from watching videos on CMT. Anyway, I've always suspected she's a lesbian.
If they were to disappear, I would not miss them because to me, they are a bunch of hypocrites who have no respect for the rights that other people have. If they couldn't take the backlash to what was said ten years ago, nothing should have been said at all period and to me what makes them a bunch of hypocrites is the fact that they trashed our former leader right after singing about a girl who did the same thing that he did and that is retaliate against those who struck them first.

P.S. I wouldn't be surprised if that lead girl is a lesbian, but I doubt it because she has been married to husband #2 for the past 13 years now I think it may be.
