it's you who are inflexible. be that way since you have the nerve to say today's music is devolving and that isn't true, it just has more genres and different flavors/styles.

Well now ...how 'bout 'dat!!

You can count me among the "stupid" and now ...the "immature". Another badge I will wear with pride. If being mature means I gotta like this......

YouTube - Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz - I Can Transform Ya

Then put me back in Pampers.

SWV (I'm sure most of you know them) are coming back with an album for 2010. From the sound of Coko Only 1 CoKo! (CokoClemons) on Twitter (via twitter) they have already recorded some songs. If you know SWV you'll know they are probably one of the worlds most popular (TLC, DC3, Spicegirls, and En Vogue) and one of the best selling female music groups. They had pop/r&b cuts like Right Here, Weak, I'm So Into You (GTA SA), Rain & many others. So when/if they do comeback the younger generation would probably recognize who they are because of their popularity. They still sell out tours to this day..

Also, Mint Condition is still on the scene, but I think they are mostly independent..

Joe
Charlie Wilson
En Vogue (Has a new album coming out)
TLC (Has a reality show and album coming out)
Teena Marie
Eric Bonet
Maxwell (His latest album went Plat)
Mariah Carey (Emancipation of Mimi, heavily based R&B album..10x plat in America)
and etc.

So you still have the ESSENSE of R&B, but it isn't as popular and good as it was in the 80's and 90's.

Also guys check out a chick by the name of Janelle Monae, I think she's the next Lauryn Hill..she is a member of BAD BOY records (Diddy) and you would think he & his label have enough sense to market and publicize the hell out of her. Because all her songs are AMAZING! She's going to get her shine one day and sell millions of records and sell out huge stadiums!

Doesn't this sound like a vintage Lauryn Hill song?

r&b is still here its just that its sound changes with a new generation just like other genres of music
ex. new country doesnt sound like the good ole country; rap doesn't sound like the 80's rap and etc etc
but r&b will always be around its just that there are new generations now and it will always be that way

I wouldn't even call a lot of this stuff rap anymore. Lyrics are whack....they "chant" more than "flow". They find a hook and they say one thing over and over!

LISTEN TO THE KINGS AND FRIENDS....ALL OF THESE CATS COULD FLOW...

THEN LISTEN TO THIS...
