I used to have 500-600 records back in the 80s, but over time I have trimmed down to about 100. Then I started collecting again last year. I ended up purchasing quite a few I used to own, along with others my friends used to have. Now back to around 300 records.
Bought a nice turntable, one this good I never have owned, and I gotta say, the experience is pretty great. The quality of the turntable and stylus really matters.
It's all very nostalgic, having the physical vinyl and full album art again.
I am interested to know if you are selling off or still buying vinyl, and why. For me, it's mostly about having analog recordings made in the analog vinyl era, and the nostalgia it brings. If they are later in the digital era, I am more disposed towards having them on CD.
I only get records when it is the only way to score the music that I am looking for. My last record purchase however was sometime during the year 2017.

I don't buy as much as I did in my youth but I still buy vinyl. I lean to Classic Rock artists and groups but I have several Easy Listening and Jazz, too. I purchase through Discogs. I trust them the most. The OP's right too about turntable and stylus quality. I'll throw in that good speakers are a must
Not recently, but early 2000’s was into collecting and listening.
Once read that someone had paid a lot of money(in the thousands) for a certified authentic “Blizzard of Ozz” vinyl record that had the cover autographed by Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Randy Rhoads.
You never know what you may find at yard sale, or anywhere else!

I don't buy any more, but I do listen to my collection that was mostly from the late 1960s-70s. I have a record player that also has CD, cassette, FM and Bluetooth capability.

Absolutely. My 1980s-era pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers still sound better than ever.
I just remembered that my last vinyl purchase was actually almost two years ago. I am ashamed that I forgot about it. You can listen to the material here. I know that the songs are meant for kids, but what drew me to the music is the singer himself. I love his voice. I just wish that he was still here.
Sold off all my heavy milk crates of albums, along with my turntable in 1998 when I moved to Boston. The record store owner kind of took advantage of me then, but I just didn't want to move them one more time, so I sold them for a song , so to speak...
