I never knew the name of this song or artist, but I recently heard it again of Jack FM after all these years, and I am dying to know what it is.

It's kind of a slow tempo, and all I remember from the words is "I'll be your [dude ?]...doo doo" or was it doop doop? It's kind of indistinct singing, no strong articulation of words. I think it is a male singing, but kind of high pitched voice - I'm thinking something like Heaven 17? I don't think it's actually Heaven 17, though.

I know this is pretty challenging since I have given so little to work with, but I know CD has some of the best music afficionados and I have a feeling this will make sense to someone.

Thanks!

If it was by George Michael, that snippet would be contained in the song Father Figure.

I'll Tumble 4 Ya is another. That song has a lot of lines that start off "I'll be your". But you would know the artist.

The only one I can think of that fits everything you said is this 1986 song from the Communards. The link says Jimmy Somerville, he was the lead singer of Communards and before that Bronski Beat. I hope this is the one you were thinking of, I know how frustrating it can be to try thinking of a song...

I bet that's it as the song you selected sounds exactly how she described it .

Oh!! OOOHHHH!!!! I KNOW this one!!!!!

It's "doot doot" by Freur!

What's in a name?
Face on a stage
Where are you now?
Memory fades, you take a bow

Here in the dark
Watching the screen
Look at them fall
The final scene

And we go doot
Doot doot

Look at them fall
Flicker and fade
Gone are the screams
I put them to rest now they are dreams

And we go doot
Doot doot

i always LOVED THIS SONG!! It's just plain weird but comforting!

So that's so funny, I didn't see LadyIce's song suggestion when I posted mine!

So did anyone of us figure it out??

They are distinctly different tunes, so curious.

Reps for everyone who helped me out in the thread - thanks everyone!

What I thought was I'll be your dude or doop or whatever was actually "and we go doot doot".
