John Lennon and Elton John
On Thanksgiving night, November 28, 1974, John Lennon made his final live performance at Madison Square Garden, sitting in with Elton John for three songs: “Whatever Gets You Thru the Night,” “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “I Saw Her Standing There.” Elton John had played on the recording session for “Whatever Gets You Thru the Night” and made a bet with Lennon that if the song went to #1, Lennon would appear with him in concert. Lennon accepted the wager, confident that the song would never reach #1.

Thanx rl
I'll search to see if I can find some footage, I can post.
