Technically, this isn't the actual recording, since I'm listening to a concert version just released on the Legacy Edition of Couldn't Stand the Weather, but it's still a beautiful piece that makes you think what a tragedy it was that the marriage didn't last as long in the end . . . he wrote the piece for her one night, in the middle of the night, after she'd pooled with his buddies to buy him a rather ratty-looking Stratocaster he'd seen in a pawn shop and hungered to add to his array of Strats . . . went into another room, began playing that guitar, and came up with this piece and woke her up to play it for her, and she was moved to tears by it . . .
